In discussing the idea of a box set of printed local art greeting cards, it was the general consensus that our artists should make new art to fit the dimensions of the cards. When we decide exactly what those dimensions best suit us we can get into the technical details. So don’t start making art based on the dimensions below.
How Do We Choose the Art?
This will be the thing we have to do as a group so that we’re all on board. If anyone has had experience with similar creative projects (calendars, for example) please share what worked and what didn’t.
The Quote from City Print +
Below is the quote we got from City Print+ for 1 card for various quantities. This quote has expired, but I suspect it won’t be too far off so it give us an idea of the costs.

Based on the above quote here is an AI generated table of what it would cost to print 100, 250, and 500 box sets. Ignoring the question of where we will get the money to do the printing, the best deal is 250 by a significant margin.

ClaudeAI: “Price drops fastest between 100 and 250 units (about 53%), then slows between 250 and 500 (about 37%).”
Boxes: City Print+ doesn’t sell boxes so I went to Uline and found a basic kraft box that costs less than a dollar each at 500. With a little more digging we could find something more suitable.
How Will We Pay for This?
This is another area where prior experience will be invaluable. Perhaps we could have a fundraiser, or some business people in the county want to get involved, or maybe there is a business development fund we can tap into. We will brainstorm.
Where Will We Sell them?
Most of us can think of plenty of places including craft fairs where we can sell the card. More brainstorming.
