RICHMOND ARTISTS ALLIANCE
Supporting Artists and Artisans in Richmond County, Cape Breton
WHO WE ARE
The Richmond Artists Alliance (RAA) is a nonprofit society formed in March 2025 to support, promote, and connect artists and artisans in Richmond County, Nova Scotia. The Alliance welcomes professional and emerging artists working in all visual mediums—from painting and crafts to photography.
MISSION
To grow a vibrant creative economy in Richmond County by promoting serious artists and artisans, building visibility for local creative work, encouraging skill development and mentorship, creating opportunities for exhibition and sales, and fostering a supportive and inclusive artistic community. We also share our skills with the wider community.
WHAT WE DO AND WILL DO
- The Gallery is a space hosted at the D’Escousse Civic Improvement Society until October.
- We will be participating in Lennox Passage Yacht Club Harbourfest this year in August.
- We hold gatherings such as show-and-tell events, workshops, plein air meetups, and more
- We organize pop-up exhibitions and curated sales across the county.
- We provide training in digital tools, media, and marketing for artists.
- Our outreach identifies and uplifts hidden local talent.
- Reaching out to other business owners such as the The Groundswell for special events and cross marketing
THE GALLERY
We were offered a space in the D’Escousse Civic Improvement Society building and jumped at the chance. The gallery is now open, though we’re still catching up. Other projects are on hold as we prioritize what members said mattered most—a place to show and sell their work.
WHO CAN JOIN
RAA is open to all serious artists and craftspeople actively working on their craft. We value originality, commitment, and community engagement. Members must be based in Richmond County or have a strong connection to the area.GET INVOLVED
